Chocolate monkey superfood smoothie

🍫 Chocolate lovers unite!! This chocolate peanut butter shake is packed with fibre, protein, healthy fats and omega 3s - making it my go-to when I'm pressed for time, craving dessert or don't know what else to make 😅

The recipe is pretty flexible to your tastes and consistency preferences but here's what works for me!

  • 1 ripe banana (better if frozen)

  • 2-3 pitted dates

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

  • 1.5 tablespoons cacao powder (be sure to use cacao and not cocoa!!)

  • 2 tablespoons hemp hearts

  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seed

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

  • 1 cup of plant milk (or more depending on preferences, if it's too thick then I'll add cold water)

  • handful of spinach (I love adding this in for extra nutrients but it'll turn your smoothie to a murky green-brown colour)

  • optional: garnish with cacao nibs

Throw it all in a blender and blend away! I scramble to put away all the ingredients in that 45 seconds to minimize clean up time
